Special American Cuisine: How to make Pound Cake

~There is always room for dessert~

Today, I have another recipe really typical in the American Cuisine. Our second recipe is Pound Cake, a soft and traditional cake that can make your day kind sweet.

A little bit of history:

It is a type of cake traditionally made with a pound of flour, butter, eggs, and sugar. It was discovered in Northern Europe in the 1700s.

INGREDIENTS*:

- 1 pound of melted butter or margarine
- 2 cups of white sugar
- 4 cups of flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 cup of milk
- 6 eggs

STEPS:

1. Heat oven to 325°F (165°C).
2. Melt butter until it is nice and soft.
3. In a large bowl, mix the sugar, butter, baking powder.
4. Add first half of the flour and a little of milk to the mixture, and then mix.
5. Add the rest of the flour and a little bit of milk.
6. Mix everything and add the rest of the milk.
7. Add 6 eggs (one by one, which means: add one egg, mix until you can't see it anymore, add another egg, mix, and repeat until you have the 6 eggs in the mixture).
8. Cover the pan for the cake with aluminum foil.
9. Pour the mixture in the pan.
10. Bake an hour and 45 minutes (1hr 45 min).
11. Cool in pan 10 minutes.
12. Turn upside down onto serving plate; pull apart to serve.
